The focus of the International Festival of Literature 2008 was African literature. Amma Darko was invited to present her books and had her first reading on the opening day. Barbara Wahlster moderated the reading. Amma Darko read from "Not without Flowers" and the actor Margareta Broich vividly read the German text. Lilian-Astrid Geese translated during the discussion. |

The second reading was for a young audience, pupils
of 16 - 18 years. The pupils had read "Not without Flowers" at school
and asked questions like: "Is polygamy in Ghana only for men or also for
women?". The reading was moderated by Shelly Kupferberg. Margarita
Broich read all the German texts. During this reading, Amma Darko introduced her new book for young readers, "The Necklace of Tales". |
